Welcome!

Welcome to our wedding website!

We are happy you are part of our lives and will help us celebrate this special event. Please let us know if you have any questions, you can either email us or post a comment and we'll make sure we get back to you right away.

About Our Home

We are currently living on Kwajalein Island in the Kwajalein Atoll. This is the Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Defense Test Site.

One thing we can tell you is that traveling here is a bit of a challenge and we'll need to know as soon as possible if you think you want to make the journey. There is paperwork to sign, approvals to get and logistics to work out.

While we realize this could be a real inconvenience for some and may make it an impossible journey, we'll provide all the help we can and assist in any way possible. If you can't make it...no worries. It won't be too long before we're back in your neck of the woods. (FYI- For those of us that have to travel 6000+ miles to get back home every year, anything inside the Continental US is your neck of the woods)

If you can make it, we guarantee you will have an amazing time. While it may be expensive to travel here, there are practially no expenses on island. Food and drinks are quite inexpensive (although the selection is minimal) and we should be able to find accomodations for everyone at no extra cost.

Be prepared to ride a bicycle everywhere we go and don't forget your sunscreen!

The Plan

Here is a rough breakdown of our vision for the wedding:
  • Visitors on island for roughly 1 week. This will depend on the flights everyone is able to get. We only get a plane every other day here.
  • The morning of the wedding, everyone grabs their beach clothes, snorkel gear and snacks and heads out to go sailing at about 8:30 am. We'll spend a few hours sailing over to the island of Bijej where we'll have the ceremony and then spend the day playing in the water. Sometime early afternoon we'll sail back to Kwajalein.
  • Everyone can take some time to get cleaned up and we'll head to the Yacht Club for a shrimp boil reception. YUM!
  • After all of our guests are safely back home in the States, we'll head off on our Honeymoon; destination.....Bali!

Travel Tips

Traveling to Kwajalein is a bit tricky since we are across the International Date Line. You lose a day coming here but you get it back on your way home. It can make purchasing airline tickets particularly challenging.

The easiest way to book your travel plans would be to use the link on the right side of the page to contact the Kwajalein travel office directly. Remember to wait until late morning or early afternoon to call or no one will be there to answer your call. (See the Kwaj clock on the right for reference)

Unfortunately, we won't be able to accomodate visitors for more than about a week so you can use this timeline as a guide:

If you are coming from the lower 48 States, you will board your first plane on April 25th bound for Honolulu, HI. If you want to spend some time in Hono, you can get there earlier or if you want to get to Kwaj as fast as possible, make sure you arrive very late on the 25th. You will leave Honolulu bound for Kwaj on April 26th.

We're all used to this by now but be prepared; the plane to Kwaj leaves at 5:00am and you need to be at the Honolulu airport by 3:00am to catch your flight. Many, many people have missed this flight so make sure you are there early! Even though you leave Hono on the 25th, when you get off the plane on Kwajalein it will be the 27th already!

The wedding is scheduled for May 1st and we only get a commercial flight every other day. So most likely, you will leave to head back home on May 6th. The funny thing about this leg of the trip is that the plane leaves Kwajalein around 7pm. (Unfortunately you have to check in at the airport around 4:30pm). You arrive in Honolulu around 3:00am on the same day May 6th, then you'll catch a flight home and even though you've been traveling for two days, you will arrive home the same day you left, May 6th!

If you decide to get a hotel in Honolulu on your way home remember to book the hotel for May 5th. Even though you are checking in at 3:00am on May 6th, the reservation needs to be the 5th if you want a room waiting for you. If you book it for the 6th, you'll have to wait until the 3:00pm check in time which is probably after your next flight home. You may also want ot ask about their late check out plan so you can sleep a little longer than noon!

I hope this helps and be sure to shoot us an email if you have any other questions.

We can't wait to see you!

Required Paperwork

We will need to submit one of these for every visitor as soon as possible.
